Introduction to Floriography - The 'I Love You's'

Following on from the lyrical love letter from our Lily of the Valley last week, written by my beautiful flower friend Maya, today we are talking about what blooms you can gift someone when words just ain’t enough.
It follows on in our Introduction to Floriography series, and if you need to catch up, you can find all the other posts on the A Blog In Bloom page! If you’re a little nerdy like me, then you’ll already know there are a few varieties of roses that can be symbolised in gift form to represent the big ‘L word’, and so this post will cover some of the other ways you can pour your heart out through flowers that might be a little different. I’ve presented the flowers under vague categories for easy usage, and then listed underneath flowers and meaning - enjoy lovebirds!

I LIKE YOU
There are so so so many flowers that have the very simple meaning of ‘affection’ in the Dictionary of Flowers,
so why not gift your significant other with a bouquet that just says you’re still incredibly keen?

Celosia - ‘affection’
Heliotrope (plant)
- ‘affection’
Morning Glory - ‘affection’
Pear - tree or just a packet from Sainsbury’s, I’m sure they both mean ‘affection’
Fuchsia - ‘humble love’
Stock, Matthiola - ‘Beauty that doesn’t fade’
